Interview Reflection Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Interview Reflection - Essay Example As a teacher, I am no longer a mere instructor. I am also a counselor to the students who will help them become well-rounded individuals of society. Another important point which struck me in the interview is the realization that a teacherââ¬â¢s job is never easy. A teacher is challenged by the differences of his students. He will have to adjust his teaching style especially if he has students with special needs. He must be able to attend to the average kids and yet not neglect the needs of the special children. It is not easy because the teacher has to modify his teaching style to address the special concerns and be fair to all his students in class. The knowledge of content is very essential in my role as a teacher. Before I teach the subject, I must have ample time to prepare. I must be really knowledgeable on the subject matter so as not to misinform my students. Regular meetings with other teachers who teach the same subject in the same grade level is necessary to have a standardized lesson plan. It also doubles up as a support group for us teachers. Any problems which we encounter can be better resolved if we have discussion forums. The knowledge of the role of a school is something which every teacher must put in mind. As teachers, we should realize that a school is an important institution of society. It is in the school where a child is prepared for their future roles in society. It is the institution which lays the foundation which the child needs to be a responsible citizen of the country. As such, the government should allot a huge budget in the improvement of the educational system of the nation. The school must be able to provide the students with updated textbooks and educational materials through the appropriate funding from the government. If the government fails to give ample funds to schools, they cannot expect the schools to produce students who are at par with the

Art is life Essay Example for Free
Art is life Essay Art is life, it is beauty, it is emotion, it is you, it is me, it is everything. Art defines all that we are, and all that we could become. Art is of the past and of the future, of the influences of our daily lives, of our pasts combined with who we are today. Art is an indescribable joy, an expansion of the mind, body and soul. We are art, every last individual of the human race. Art comes in the form of music, dance, theater, painting, drawing, blowing, throwing, and even in the math equations or scientific experiments of the right brained population. Art is feeling, seeing, smelling, tasting and hearing. Art is here to titillate our senses, to create emotional and physical reactions to the viewer. Art is healing. Art is loving. Art isâ⬠¦ everything. The Value of Art After a distinctly self-contemplative night, I began to wonder what it is that attracts people to art. Certainly I consider myself an artist of sortsâ⬠¦ but what is it that makes me an artist? Why do I practice art? Why does anyone immerse themselves in abstract activities that, for the most part, do not add to financial security or other measurable values? We know that art has been around before written language. Ancient carvings and cave-wall paintings attest to an early drive to participate in artistic endeavors. I would say that our skills as artists have improved since the first cave paintingsâ⬠¦ but I think there must be the same seed of creativity that connects long forgotten ancestors and modern artists. I think that the most obvious similarity is that dedicated artists tend to create art that reflects important aspects of their lives. When it comes to ancient man, what could have been more important than food and reproduction? Ancient art is ripe with images of hunting and pregnant women. As human society evolved into more stable communities, the art changed. Over time the focus on survival was supplanted with self-emulation. In ancient Egypt, for example, the art turned to worshipping the value of great kings and all-powerful gods. The same happened in most cultures. I doubt that common slaves of Egypt felt that preserving kingly honor for eternity was a motivating factor; slaves probably would have produced an entirely different art than what weà find in tombs had they the resources to create art. What is telling is that the art that survived from ancient times reflects directly the values of the people producing and preserving it: in terms of Egyptâ⬠¦ it was of the Pharaohs. European Medieval art reflects a mixture of pagan and Christian ideals. We can deduce that local kings whose roots were largely pagan mixed with the influence of Rome. The artistic work commissioned throughout this time is a constant reminder of those influences. Take this on up to our own time. An important note to take is that as the traditional religious values of historic importance in the west have been challenged in intellectual circles, the focus of art has strayed. Prehistoric art was focused on life and deathâ⬠¦ ancient art turned to the afterlife and mysticism; modern art has no focus. I am confident that mass media and the internet have a large role in the changeâ⬠¦ perhaps we are still too early in the new era to be able to define the motivating factor behind the art that will last; but I feel that the reality is that art has no focus in our age because it is not the secluded craft of the gifted and appointed.

Why Some Small Businesses Fail Essay -- Economics Business Management
Why Some Small Businesses Fail It is hard to measure the size of a business. According to The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), an SME can be described as a business that employs between 0-49 people. However a company such as a Chemical Plant may employ less than 49 people but have a turnover of à £20 million. So according to the number of employees, the DTI would class it as a small business. However, according to the level of turnover it could be classed as a large business. The size of the firm is generally measured by the amount employed1. The amount of SMEââ¬â¢s is forever increasing. There are many reasons for the increase, such as; improved technology, ability to sub-contract part of business and public sector being encouraged to become smaller. There is also Push and Pull factors that help people come to the decision to be self-employed. ââ¬Å"Push factorsâ⬠include people who are unemployed or made redundant decide to venture on their own. This may be simply starting their own window cleaning service. Another ââ¬Å"push factorâ⬠is the ââ¬Å"Pratt factorâ⬠this is when an employee finds himself working for someone else less talented and wonders ââ¬Ëwhy am I working for you?ââ¬â¢ so decides to start up on his own. My advice to my friend was to learn by his mistakes and try again. It is inevitable that small businesses will carry on failing. Sometimes the reason behind the failure cant be helped. However from reading this essay you should gather that the majority of the times, failure could have been prevented. In fact 82% of the time when businesses fail, the owners really could have done something differently to stop it from happening. REFERENCES 1 Business Studies by Dave Hall, Rob Jones, Carlo Raffo. College Life Essay
College life is stress free; whoever said anything about it being difficult is ludacris. Being in college is so nice. There is work but there isnââ¬â¢t as much work as in high school. The assignments arenââ¬â¢t due for credit or points in our final grade. We do assignments for fun. Itââ¬â¢s no big deal if we donââ¬â¢t do our homework, cramming the material the night before always works, thatââ¬â¢s how high school was. The rest of the time we donââ¬â¢t have class we hang out with friends and talk until the day ends. There are so many things to do on campus such as joining clubs, going downtown, going shopping, or walking around campus with friends; there is no time for homework. There is only time for exploring and having fun in college. Thatââ¬â¢s what the college life is all about having fun and socializing to our hearts content at parties, during class, after classes and on the weekends. All of the socializing outside of school leads you to do well in college. Testing your boundaries and finding out what you truly love to do. Classes are there to keep you on track and help you appreciate what youââ¬â¢re doing outside of school. School is there to help you realize what you want to do in the future, whether it is your new hobby or your career. College is all about finding yourself. You can always make up the schoolwork anytime, but the main focus that schools want you to do is to have fun while being able to balance assignments and school. They are preparing you for your exciting future in the real world. The real world and the world of college are different but pretty much the same, there are the same workloads and most definitely the same enjoyment in the things you do at work and in college. College work is harder since you have to worry about making connections in college and keeping them strong because those relationships are those that youââ¬â¢re going to treasure most. No one talks about high school memories, everyone talks about college memories. Thatââ¬â¢s why having the most fun those college years and caring less about school is the way to go for the best college memories and experiences you may ever have, in your entire life. Life is going to be boring without those college years of fun, going in to the working world with more experiencesà from college gives you a head up in the game, called the real world. Although you think its bad for you now, but wait until you get to tell everyone about your experiences in college during those job interviews. They will be excited to hire you right off the bat knowing that you are ready for the real world. Ready to work now that you have experience in experiencing the world to its fullest, and being able to share those experiences and relating them to people and their situations. My modest proposal is to enjoy yourself in college, donââ¬â¢t worry too much about the grades. Be in college for the education but donââ¬â¢t forget to go wild when having fun during those college years. You never know when youââ¬â¢re going to be able to experience them again in the real world.

Environmental protection Essay
Environmental protection has become a major concern for society. Admittedly, with the rapid development of economy, our environment is faced with new challenges. People increasingly attach importance to the protection. So it has been common that teachers and students discuss environmental protection in class. City planners take environmental problems into consideration as well. Factories are no exception. They begin to try reducing pollution to meet the needs of environmental protection instead of the short-term interest. The main reasons are listed as follows: firstly, the serious air and water pollution affects everyone. In addition, only by making joint efforts to protect our environment can cities survive. Last but not least, businesses to make a profit pay more attention to environmental protection for their interest in the long run. From the picture above, we can see even the communication between parents and son rely on the Internet. With the rapid development of advanced science and technology, people increasingly make full use of the Internet to communicate with each other instead of face-to-face contact. As far as I am concerned, electronic communication only partly replace face-to-face contact. Admittedly, the Internetââ¬â¢s being put into use widely is the inevitable result of social development. It is indispensable to our daily communication. In addition, there is no denying that the electronic communication does save plenty of time for us, we can communicate easily beyond the limit of time and place. But every cion has its two sides. People are meeting increasingly on the Internet, on television screens. Undoubtedly, it is not beneficial to the deepen the emotions and between people. We cannot express our feelings fully without face-to-face contact as well. Some body language like a hug of comfort or a kiss of love will never be express through the electronic communication. Therefore, though the electronic communication bring convenience to us, to some degree, electronic communication can never replace face-to-face contact. My View on Traffic Accidents In recent years, plenty of news about people injured or killed by cars on roads can be heard , which shows us that traffic accidents have been risen. But why are there so many such terrible events? As far as I am concerned, to begin with, it is the result of more cars are running on the roads with the development of economy. Increasing accidents follow the increasing cars. In addition, there is no denying that the road conditions sometimes canââ¬â¢t meetà the requirement of cars. But I think the most important one point is the lack of the safety awareness. And when being drunk, most people insist driving .As we all know, quite a lot of traffic accidents are due to the drivers who drive cars after drinking. Drunk driversââ¬â¢ mind is vague, and they canââ¬â¢t control themselves and the car well, so they can easily get into trouble out of consciousness.

Joseph Stalin Childhood and Early Years
Joseph Stalin Childhood and Early Years Free Online Research Papers Joseph Stalin, probably the man with the highest record of mass murders in history, with about 20 million deaths1, posed himself as the man who would take Russia from its bad government and wars to restore it and make it an advanced country. His desire of greatness and possession made him commit terrible crimes in order to reach his wanted power. Joseph Stalin was probably the man that brought Russia back to power but it was also the worst mistake that could ever happen in the history of the Soviet Union. On December 21st, 1879, Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, was born in Gori, Georgia2. Joseph Vissarionvich, also known as Joseph Stalin, was born in a poor family. His father, Vissarion Dzhugashvili was a modest shoemaker who had his own shop. Ekaterina Georgievna, Stalinââ¬â¢s mother, was born serf, so she didnââ¬â¢t have much capital. His parents were very protective, since their first three children died and Joseph was born with a poor health. In several occasions his mother feared that he would also die. Unfortunately, after some years, his father became an alcoholic. This made his business fail and he became violent and abusive with his wife and kid. Also, he grew up in a violent place, where gang warfare, wrestling tournaments and street fighting was seen every day. When he was seven years old, he contracted smallpox. Even though he survived, he had scars in his face. Some children were mean to him and they called him ââ¬Å"Pocky.â⬠Later, when he came to power, he had his photos retouched to make marks less apparent. Later, in 1888, when Joseph was nine years old, his mom took him to the Gori church school3. Thanks to his intelligence and commitment, he did very good and was accepted. In Gori church school, his classmates were mostly sons of priests, officials and merchants. But being in a lower class wasnââ¬â¢t a barrier and he was always known as the best student. He wrote poetry and sang in the choir. Furthermore, his father wanted him to be a shoemaker. When he found out he was studying, he made a big scandal in Gori. He smashed the windows in the tavern and attacked a town police men. This was a huge crime, so he was banished from Gori and ended up in Tblisi, leaving his family in Gori. When he was twelve, he was struck by a horse-drawn carriage twice, so he was taken to a hospital in Tblisi. His father kidnapped him and enrolled him as an apprentice shoemaker. His mother took him back to Gori and his father cut their financial aid. Finally, he graduated in the Gori Church School in 1894, when he was only 154. After he turned 16, he got free scholarship to the Tiflis Theological Seminary, in Tblisi. He was drawn to Georgian Patriotism and he knew more about Russian culture. It was in high school that Joseph learned, in a forbidden book from the public library, about the ideas of Karl Marx. In Marxââ¬â¢s writings, religion was just a tool used to oppress workers and soon all workers would rebel against factory and private businesses owners. Joseph took this personally since he was sent by his mother to the seminary to become a priest. He then felt he had to take vengeance of all people who made him feel inferior. While he was at the seminary, he read forbidden books like Victor Hugo novels. He insisted his classmates to call him ââ¬Å"Kobaâ⬠after a protagonist of the novel The Patricide. He then joined a secret organization called Messame Dassy. Members were supporters of Georgian independence from Russ ia. In May 1899, Stalin was expelled from the TiflisTheological Seminary5. He disrespected the authority, read forbidden books and tried to convert his classmates to Marxism. For some months, after his expulsion, Stalin was unemployed. After some time, he found work by giving private lessons to middle class students. Then, he worked as a clerk at the Tiflis Observatory and sometimes wrote articles in a socialist newspaper. During his early twenties, Joseph became a political agitator. He convinced workers to strike and was always chased by authority. At the age of 22, in 1901, Stalin joined the Social Democratic Labor Party, so he stayed in Russia where he organized industrial resistance to Tsarism6. On April 18, 1902, he was arrested because he planned a strike at a large plant in Batum7. He spent one year and 6 months in prison, and later he was deported to Siberia. At the Second Congress of the Social Democratic Labor Party, in 1903, two party leaders had an argument; Lenin and Julius Martov, Martov won8. Martovââ¬â¢s followers where known as Mensheviks. Leninââ¬â¢s followers were known as Bolsheviks. In 1904, Stalin escaped from Siberia to plan strikes in Tiflis9.
